Piloxing® Barre

Now don't be fooled by it's name.  Whilst the word "Barre" does appear, it is NOT a ballet class.

Piloxing Barre does take traditional ballet moves and adds Pilates and boxing for a dynamic full body workout like nothing else you have tried.  This game-changing program takes place at the barre but shifts between slow leg work that improves balance, tones the muscles and strengthens joints and the intense arm work that that builds strong arms and shoulders, increases power, and gets your heart pumping. By incorporating the Barre, we are able to hold the poses longer therefore increasing its effectiveness as the focus is on form rather than trying to balance.

Piloxing Barre is perfect for anyone wanting to sculpt and tone their body whilst also improving balance, core strength and fitness.  This class is low impact but don’t let that fool you.  Whilst the moves may look simple, they can be quite intense and are super effective

Piloxing Barre will start with a Pilates warm up to get the body moving.  These warm up movements remain unchanged from week to week to enable students to warm up effectively without having to learn choreography.  The class will then alternate between Boxing and Pilates blocks with an Arm Blast block in the middle of the class.  We will then start to wind up the class with a Pilates block containing Battemont movements, some grounded core work and then finish with a relaxing stretch routine.

Piloxing Barre is a barefoot class so shoes are not required nor encouraged.  You are permitted to wear yoga socks (or other grip socks) if desired to reduce slipping and to keep the feet warm in the winter months.  We recommend that you wear comfortable activewear that allows for a large range of movement without being too baggy (loose clothing can hinder some movements).  Piloxing gloves are optional and are available for purchase from your instructor.

You will need to ensure you bring plenty of water and a sports towel

Piloxing Barre uses a mix of specially formatted workout tracks to complement the moves and to keep you singing along with a smile on your face.
